Vaping temperature is a recurring subject among vapers, especially beginners. Some vape juices are better enjoyed at higher or lower temperatures, depending on their composition, flavor, and more.

However:

The best vaping temperature will ultimately depend on the consumer’s personal taste. The following is a recount of insights into how temperature can impact the overall quality of vapor and your consumer’s experience.

In other words:

Using the correct temperature may determine whether or not a customer will repurchase products, which is probably your end goal. That’s why we’ve decided to help you understand the ins and outs of vaporization, and most importantly, how the ideal vaping temperature is defined. This way, you can teach it to your customers and raise the probability of a repurchase situation.

What Is Vaporization?

The end goal of vaporization is to make vapor out of essential oils and extracts. This is done by heating vape juices to a specific temperature. By understanding how the different components in their e-juice behave when submitted to heat, customers can decide what the best temperature for vaping them is.

Vaping Temperature Control Guide

TC is a tech solution that first originated with the intention to avoid dry or burnt hits. Especially when it came to longer drags, it was difficult for devices to provide a consistent temperature without the vapor getting hotter as the drag continued.

TC works by allowing the user to choose a temperature limit within a specific range. This basically means that the device adjusts the power the battery sends to the coil to keep it at the chosen temperature.

Most vape mods come with a TC mode and users may even take advantage without knowing that they’re even using it. But as vape shop owners it is extremely important for us to teach consumers the concepts that may help them have a better vape experience.

At this point we could even go into wire types and coils, but simply explaining temperature control and helping customers understand it is already a huge step forward.

How Does Temperature Affect Vaping?

Devices usually allow users to choose from a list of preset temperatures, especially when meant for herb vaporization. The ability to keep temperature stable is a feature that sets good vaporizers apart from low-quality units.

Once the capabilities of the vape pen are clear, that’s when the quality of the vape juice used becomes important in terms of taste and consistency.

The perfect temperature for nicotine vaping stands between 199-255°C (390-490°F). From there on it’s pretty much up to the user to learn what they enjoy the most.

Higher temperatures usually mean richer flavors. But they also mean hotter vapor, which may cause discomfort to some users. Experienced vapers usually agree that 420°F is the sweet spot for nicotine vaping.

Scaling up to between 425-450°F will add more flavor potency to the experience but is not necessarily for everyone. Any more than that may add more flavor but may also deliver vapor that’s too hot to inhale smoothly. With sweeter e-juices, a higher temperature could turn out to deliver an overpowering flavor that does not allow the customer to enjoy the experience.

The pros of temperature control include:

  • Avoiding dry or burnt hits
  • Longer coil and wick life
  • Longer battery life
  • Vape temperature consistency

The cons of temperature control are:

  • This could mean mod limitations
  • Temp control vapes are limited to certain materials

Last Words on Temperature Control

Temperature control devices allow vapers to control the temperature of the vapor in each puff and it usually works by setting a range of temperatures and staying within that range. However, other devices allow the user to choose an exact temperature (or voltage). The above is a brief guide on how variable temperature vaping may affect the user’s experience and on what the best temperature for vaping nicotine could be.
