Cheap vapes are a plague to the industry. They are counterfeit or clones of bigger brands that can be found everywhere, but it’s your job to make sure you never sell them. That’s why we’re dedicating this blog to seven pieces of advice on how to make sure you never buy cheap vapes.

Table of Contents:

  1. Do Buy From a Reputable Source
  2. Don’t Buy Vapes Co-Branded With Luxury Brands, Cartoons, or Movies
  3. Stay Away From Second Hand Dealers on Social Media
  4. Avoid eBay and Amazon Independent Sellers
  5. Be Wary About Chinese Wholesaler Emails
  6. Too Good To Be True Deals Usually Are
  7. Contact Manufacturers and Ask for a List of Certified Suppliers
  8. Conclusion

Do Buy From a Reputable Source

This might seem obvious, but the first thing you need to ensure is that your suppliers are reputable. One way to check this is to do an online search and find out exactly how many reviews they have, how many manufacturers link them as official resellers, and if they have a phone number where you can talk shop and ask specific questions about the products that are sold. Most reputable vape wholesalers will have a way to be contacted and this is important since, if you have any problems with your order, you can talk with someone that can resolve your issue.

Don’t Buy Vapes Co-Branded With Luxury Brands, Cartoons, or Movies

A huge red flag for cheap vapes is that they have unofficial collaborations with luxury brands, like Gucci, Off-White, Louis Vuitton, Supreme, or cartoons like Rick and Morty or any of the Marvel movies. These vapes almost always are counterfeit and cheaply made, and unless you can make sure that the collaboration between these vapes is official, you should never, and we mean never, buy these devices, whether they are disposables, pod systems, or box mods.

Stay Away From Second Hand Dealers on Social Media

It’s common for counterfeit and clone vape dealers to reach out to vape shops through social media, usually by offering them insane deals that wholesalers would never make. Although there is a chance that official wholesalers might reach out to you via social media, if that’s your only form of contact, you should always be cautious of any individual or organization that promises to deliver palettes of vape goods at discounted prices thru social media, if they have no official website, or reviews, or no phone number or other contact information.

Avoid eBay and Amazon Independent Sellers

Another tip to avoid buying cheap vapes for your vape shop is to avoid eBay and Amazon. Usually, these websites, although full of other legit products in other categories, are full of clones and cheap vapes that are downright dangerous. This is because there is little oversight and regulations, and with accounts being made daily, it’s hard for both Amazon and eBay to regulate and eliminate them. So we suggest you never order your vape devices from these websites.

Be Wary About Chinese Wholesaler Emails

From time to time, if your information is found online (like your vape shop’s email), you will get communications from wholesalers. But every now and again, you will get emails from Chinese manufacturers promising to deliver the best brands at incredible prices. If the grammar and sentences seem off, if the email has no company logo, or even if they have no website or the website they provide is poorly made, we suggest you do not trust them because they might not deliver at all, and if they do, they will be cheap vapes or clones of real brands.

Too-Good-To-Be-True Deals Usually Are

Finally, if the deals are too good to be true, they usually are. If a supplier promises to give you JUUL pod systems at half the price that other suppliers offer, we suggest you do not trust the deal. Because while it is important to look for great deals, if the deal is too good to be true, you won’t be buying original vape devices but most likely clones which in turn make for cheap vapes that will fall apart or stop working. Or if they are original, there is a high chance that they might have a manufacturing error or something similar.

Contact Manufacturers and Ask For a List of Certified Suppliers

Although it will take more time, our final advice is to contact the manufacturers directly and ask them which wholesale supplier they trust the most. Usually, they will have done business with a number of wholesalers for years that you can trust and they can give you a list of suppliers or wholesalers that sell original vapes. Even Chinese manufacturers of great brands will almost always have a US phone number line, or an email you can contact them through, and even they should have some information on official resellers or suppliers.

Conclusion

Cheap vapes, clones, and counterfeit products are a danger to your business. Usually, they are poorly made and could create health problems and become a real danger to your customers. That’s why we recommend you only buy from certified resellers and from large brands that have years in the industry.
